Gingerbread

Last year Louie bought me a gingerbread house kit as a gift. Last night after a night of Christmas shopping and eating fish tacos we decided it was time to bust it out! For everyone out there curious about gingerbread houses...they are really hard to build, and letting one sit in a box for a year makes the candy hard as a rock!! Oh and also we put these circle candies on the sides but they slid down to look like tires. We actually ended up with a gingerbread mobile home. Awesome!

The Rain In Spain Stays Only on the Plain

A LIE by the way!! All of the intense rain we had today brought back some really awesome memories of my travels abroad. For those who don't know I studied in London for a semester in college and during one very cold weekend in January my flatmates and I took a trip to Barcelona, Spain. That weekend all it did was rain, and manage to keep my feet very wet. Looking back now, I can laugh about the trip, however, when we arrived, we were seriously contemplating whether or not we would get out of this country alive. Let's just say it rained...a lot, I saw a flutist perform on some kind of electric flute (pictured below) all this happening in the middle of a 'night club', spent a great amount of time inside a huge indoor market (avoiding the weather outside), and got caught in a wind storm with my new umbrella on a deserted beach (also pictured below), oh and Melissa tried to turn herself in for smuggling bananas into the country (sadly, not pictured below)!!!

Spain's Version of Ron Burgundy

People thought I was really weird for taking pictures of all the food, but it's so awesome looking!

I can feel Jess' sinus infection coming on....

I've Still Got It...

To keep you updated on a previous post, I am still able to remember the Army alphabet. I just tested myself, and I got 100%! Mini wave in celebration of me! And yes Monica, that was a Friends quote.

Foggy Day Schedule

I miss foggy day schedule. Even though I maybe got to live the benefits of it 5 or 6 times when I was in school, those days sure were amazing. It was almost as amazing as when we got out of school for a week and a half because of mold. Who knew bacteria could have made me oh so happy! Anyway, the point of this whole thing is that this past week there has been some pretty crazy fog, making it near impossible for me to get out of bed or arrive at work on time. I wish there was foggy day schedule in the professional world, wouldn't that be amazing to see your company's name scroll across the bottom of the morning news. Think about it..."MWD on 2 hour delay, Fresno Fire on 2 hour delay, Barrows 3.5 hour delay, the Tut. Club on 2 hour delay, Army on 1 year delay..." Oh how sweet it would be!

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie...

One night I was talking to my Army expert (Louis) and we somehow started talking about the Army alphabet. Well, after many stupid guesses on my part I listened to him rattle off the Army alphabet. I was impressed to say the least. So yesterday at work I tried to recall all the words like I was back in high school practicing for a vocab test. Well, needless to say I rock and have the whole thing memorized, so please let me enlighten you:

alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot, golf, hotel, india, juliet, kilo, lima, mike, november, oscar, papa, quebec, romeo, sierra, tango, uniform, victor, whiskey, x-ray, yankee, and zulu.

Don't be surprised if Louie and I only talk in code from now on.

SF & The Misty Rain

Last weekend a few of my favorite gals (Katie, Mess and Rhonda the Honda) got up early, consumed a lot of banana chocolate chip bread (well I did most of the consuming), listened to the same cd repeat 5x, had a few heated political discussions, and best of all drove to Alameda to see our favorite birthday girl Ms. Whitty Jay. We had lots of fun, consumed a tasteful amount of 'treats,' and best of all got to spend time with the Bakers! I just wanted to say thanks for opening up Jessica's old couch and your camping mats to a few old pals. I have also decided that life feels that much sweeter when old friends can pick up just where we left off.

Places To See...

Just a quick follow up on why I love iGoogle... Every time I see my homepage I get distracted and start daydreaming about places to go exploring or to have new adventures. My list of places to see is quickly growing and ironically that is what the 'gadget' or 'application' is called. My work day passes a lot faster when I get to look at places like these:

Have You Seen My Ears?

For the past, 3 or 4 Halloweens I have been a cat. It's easy, you wear black, use eyeliner to put on some whiskers...there ya go. Every single year I have to buy new cat ears because I am so lame that somehow I manage to put them in that perfect spot, you know the one, where nothing is ever found. When I find that spot, imagine the gold mine I will hit! Sometimes I seriously annoy myself!

**cat ears last seen Halloween 2007, please call with any information regarding their wearabouts**

The Fort

Everyone asks me when I go and visit Louie what we do. I have no response, because we really do nothing...and it's amazing! Here is the summary of my weekend:

Friday-
- 7ish arrive at the Fort. Louie does not answer the guards phone call, I have to wait outside till he does. Word of wisdom for all of you planning to enter onto a military base, do not get out of your car. They do not like it, and 'politely' yell, "ma'am, get back in your vehicle" scary.
- Consume the greasiest pizza known to man, and watch a movie, fall asleep.

Saturday-
-12:30ish wake up, Louie makes his signature eggs for breakfast, watch a movie
-4:30ish take a 2 hour nap
-7ish go play rock band at one of his friends house

Sunday-
-12:30ish wake up, I make Louie's signature eggs (not well I might add), watch a little football
-3:30ish I hit the road back home

So you see nothing accomplished, yet it's becoming one of my favorite things to do!

How Much Longer?

I have been an emotional mess the past week, and this image (found on 'day in pictures' duh) just pulled at my heart. It's a memorial service for a soldier killed by mortar fire in Afghanistan. It brought a few little/big tears to my eyes.

I only have one question: How much longer is this going to go on?

How Cool Is THIS?!

So every night around 9 or 10 I get online to check my "dailys." These include emails, myspace, facebook, cnn.com, bank accounts (yikes!), and finally my favorite: BBC 'Day in Pictures.' For those of you looking for something new to add to your favorites, add that site! Crazy, cool pictures taken from all over the world for that day. Tonight I came across this one, and I think it is so cool! KICK VOLLEYBALL! Are you kidding me? How come all the other countries have these cool sports? And how in the world can you bend your body to kick the ball over the net? I'm amazed. (By the way this is dedicated to my friend Sarah, who without doubt during a volleyball game will kick the ball and yell out that it's a legal hit! Got to love it!)

The match is between Burma and Thailand (Whit and Bret's two true loves)

iGoogle

I am obsessed! Completely, totally 100% obsessed with iGoogle. For those of you who are missing out on using this version of Google, just click in the top right corner of the classic Google page the words iGoogle. You can customize your home page to have news clips, the weather, add applications like a to do list, places to see, lyric finder, guitar cords, etc. It is amazing. There are also all kinds of tabs you can add, my favorite is the cooking, really good recipes at least once a day. So yes, I am a dork but it helps pass a very boring work day! Try it out...you'll loove it too!

Vote or Die

I have been doing a lot of thinking about this up coming election and have made a few observations which I would like to share with all of you. I heard someone saying the other day that this election will probably be the most important one of our lifetime. Suddenly I switched my thinking from being annoyed and opinionated to being passionate and excited! It is so exciting to hear everyone becoming so vocal about the issues that are the most important to them, even if I personally don't agree. So I say, keep writing, keep talking, and keep thinking about all of the issues facing our country! Change is what we need (no matter who's "change" you agree with)! So as P.Diddy preaches "Vote or Die," I strongly urge you to choose the first and be part of the change you wish to see in the world.

Ok those last few words were stolen from Gandhi but I think they're awesome.

The jen-erator!

Hello friends! So I am joining the many friends of mine who blog about the newest happenings in their lives. Reading random and entertaining blogs have brought so much fun to my evenings, that I thought I would finally return the favor! First off, let me explain the name, "jen-erator" You see many years ago I was sitting at Red Robin with some super cool people and we were talking about Gladiator names. I thought we were trying to come up with our own Gladiator names, so I excitedly said, "The JEN-erator!" I thought I was being super clever and all original because you know I'm Jen and it's a play on words, etc... It turns out no one else was thinking about new names, yet they were trying to recall past Gladiators! Soooo anyway, Lou and I were reminiscing about this memory a few weeks ago, and I thought it would only be appropriate to share it with the thousands of people this blog will reach! :) And plus, I think I'm funny, and now hopefully you do to!!
